Fun Mountain Life Musings

Enjoying Grand Lake

2014-06-17 09.30.25-1The summer tourist season is in full swing, but we still need to have a little fun. Steve and I got away this morning, we rode horses at the Winding River Ranch. We did the first ride of the day so we could open the stores on time. It was a cool Grand Lake morning, but the sun was warming up and just a little breeze.

I was a little nervous because it’s been about 40 years since I’ve been on a horse and my dad recently reminded me that my last horse adventure was on a run away horse. 2014-06-17 09.10.05With that memory in mind I quickly told the wanglers that I needed a gentle horse that didn’t wonder off and enjoys playing follow the leader. I got Root beer the horse, he was kind and gentle and did everything he was told, I’m proud to say it was a no trauma ride and I enjoyed the scenery  and the quite time in Rocky Mountain National Park. It was a great time but several Advil will be in my near future.
